Shikhar Dhawan has been elevated as the captain of Sunrisers
Hyderabad and he will lead the team in the upcoming Champions Trophy 2013. Dhawan
is an attacking opener who has already made his presence felt and how.
The Indian IPL side has seen many captains until now. First
it was the Sri Lankan Kumar Sangakkara. Later the Aussie Cameron White replaced
Sangakkara. The Sri Lankan southpaw has chosen to play for the Sri Lankan team Kandurata
Maroons. White will however stay with Sunrisers Hyderabad.
Dhawan has already been in the shoes of the captain when he
was leading the Delhi side. So he has the experience of leading a side. He
added that it was an honor to lead a side like Hyderabad as it had some big
names.
The head coach of Sunrisers Hyderabad, Tom Moody said that appointing
Dhawan was the right choice. He further added that he is a dominating batsman. It
remains to be seen what kind of success Sunrisers Hyderabad achieves under Shikhar
Dhawan.
